The first round was great! Sorry that my mom missed the first jump...

Here's what happened in the jump off. I enlarged this and played it in slow motion in order to figure this out. When Nikki set to take off coming into the in-and-out, she stepped on her left front hoof. This caused her to fall, which catapulted me forward. Fortunately, she's smart and jumped out; otherwise, I would have gone face first into the oxer. You can see on the other side that she puts her head up, which pushes me back into the saddle, at which point, we're able to continue on as normal. We changed her shoeing after this incident, and it has not repeated since then. I know I say this a lot, but I am so lucky to have a horse like her.

  • wow your horse is an absolute SAINT!

Wow. First off I would like to know how you could see the cue Emily did or did not give the horse from the distance of the camera? As you can see in all her videos her equitation is exceptional. In fact McLain Ward describes her position as an example to everyone. Therefore, I highly doubt you would see the cue even if you were closer. Also, the gazebo blocks your view during part of the mishap.
