From the movie "Sweetie" starring Helen Kane and Jack Oakie. Released June 14, 1929. Written by Al Lewis, Al Sherman and Abner Silver.

Cyndi Lauper performed a 45 second version of this song on her album, "She's So Unusual". Also recorded by Annette Hanshaw.

B-side is "I'd Do Anything for You".

  • I love this song! i also have another recording of this song by Helen Kane and i also have two versions by annette hanshaw.

    The only version i have never heard of this was "The Mystery Girls Version"

    Have you ever heard of the mystery girl? she made 4 Helen Kane Impersonation recordings in (1929). including "He's So unusual" which is very rare.....

    The Mystery Girl was Kate Wright who later voiced the cartoon character Betty Boop in 1933 & 1938.

  • @BooppoopaDoop I've never heard of Kate Wright. Thanks to the link to her recordings that you have posted. She's quite good. I've never heard of "Do I Know What I'm Doing" either.
