Here's my second recording of Day of the Eagle, which I'd been wanting to do for some time, but I'd get lost in my previous attempts and gave up. On a whim, I gave it another try, and got through it, though I haven't worked much on the solos. I still don't know the solos, but I tried to make the first solo a little closer, at least in theme.

My setup (because folks often ask) is a 2x12 Crate G130C XL amp I bought used for $175. (Not the Marshall head in the background--the head's flaky from being dropped too much.) I've got the chorus and some reverb on, with the preamp distorting (preamp volume all the way, tone controls near center). Instead of the Crate's speakers, this time I am playing through the Marshall cabinent, modified to separate the two pairs of speakers for the stereo output of the Crate. I also have a Boss DS-1 which was on part of the time, at a low distortion setting (all knobs a little left of center), just to smooth things out. The guitar is an Ibanez JS series, with a Fender Lace Sensor pickup in the bass position.

I got the backing track from http://www.guitarbt.com (direct link http://s205401546.onlinehome.us/guitarbt/download.php?cat=Robin Trower&file=Robin Trower - Day Of The Eagle&ext=mp3)
