    The simulation of the vortex ring, which is generated by a vortex cannon, actually shows two vortexes, one up, rolling clockwise, and one down, rolling counterclockwise. Thanks anyway for the comment, it will help others to understand.

  • Thanks for pointing me in the direction of this program.

  • Appology, you are correct, now I see it too. It is a cross section of a vortex. The vortex ring are the two low pressure areas (dark). What confused me was the dominant high pressure i the middle. I would have not expected that at all. It appeared to me first as a normal Ink-Jet droplet simulation. But due to the same desnity medium of the "droplet" and the surrounding a vortex ring is formed. Thanks for sharing the simulation result!
