Ricky Gervais in Alias - PART 1

I think he did great. People just aren't used to seeing him act serious. I DO wonder if he giggled a lot :o)

The only reason all you people are saying he's a horrible actor in this, is because you're not used to seeing him like this. He did a kickass job in this. No doubt about it.

Has anyone actually watched Alias? If this was an episode of Extras, everyone would think that RG fit into the wooden, terrible performances of every other cast member, and was being ironic. Unbelievable that an extended cameo gets grief, but '700 thread count','patching into the feed' is passable. Shows how spot on RG's other work is.

I don't get how anybody says that Gervais' acting was horrible in this. It was anything but horrible. Was it a bit amateur? Sure. But that's because as a dramatic actor, he is an amateur.

Considering this was his first go at dramatic acting, he did very well. He's at least as good as the regular Alias cast, and the plus is that he's also a comic genius.

this really just proves ricky gervais isn't a flexible actor, but when it comes to comic acting, he's a modern genius.
