I love that music and even lyrics can be interpreted so many ways. Each of us moved and changed ........
When my brother died and I was soooooooooo sad I heard this song for the first time and I felt like he and God were singing it to me to give me hope and want to keep living.

@4elFROMEKB My Gran's got liver cancer and her skin has become yellow because of the toxins (jaundice) in her skin and tissue not being extracted by her liver (this is a bit vague - I'm 14 and don't understand properly).

LOL I give you props for the video but even Chris Martin was reported saying in MTV's Behind the Scenes and various music mags that even he doesn't hold a true meaning of the song. He used 'yellow' because he was thinking of a word to fit in the song and he looked at nearby 'yellow pages' in the room he was in and used it. He and the band also thought of 'yellow' to be a color of happiness, light, and comfort. Everyone else's interpretations is just everyone else's own interpretations.

o_0 now that makes sense, but makes me sad though. I always thought the song was about two lovers, but now it has the whole new meaning in my eyes. Thank you a lot.

@4elFROMEKB the "skin and bones turn into something beautiful" means that the one who died, of whom i'm assuming was chris' mom who died from lung failure that causes the yellowing of the skin, was brought up to heaven

He is talking about a girl that has Hepatitis C from drug abuse which he would do anything for thus the part where he says " i drew a line for you"

I 've heard that the song is about an anorexic girl... body and bones turn to yellow because of the weight loss and the eating disorders

@4elFROMEKB Well, I figured it's symbolically speaking. Skin and bones turning yellow equals entire body turning contaminated? However, it's just a theory. And, to be honest, I do not have any knowledge about the disease in query- whatsoever. Hope this rambling settles your mind :) thanks for commenting!

To tell you the truth, i still don't get it. How someone's bones along with skin can turn to something? And how can someone be yellow? Could you please explain me the meaning in words?
@ 2:49 the word yellow. for the letter "O" was that meant to be a finger? sure looks like it.
