An original song and vid by the b.a.s.i.c. band. It is now "live" on itunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/went-lookin/id363351307?i=363351314&ign-...
This is an old-fashioned rockin' blues gospel jam. Had a few of our friends sit in on this one. Our brother, Mark Glenn, on keys, and Daniel Morales giving us, once again, a human touch on the drums. As usual, Sam Glenn, on lead guitar, Don McFarlin on bass, and myself on vocals/video production. This song took us a lot longer than usual in the recording and mixing stages...it kept changing. It is kind of a rockin' old-fashioned gospel honky-tonk jam! We decided to add a little fun at the end, so when you think it's over...it's not!
We are all searching for something, right?. This song is about how Mary must have felt when Jesus died and she couldn't find Him. Scared, sad...and even overjoyed when she did find Him. All the very same emotions we all face.
Also, the photo towards the end, of the child in the pool...is my daughter, Garnet Rose, getting baptized by our Pastor, Erick Brookins.

Lyrics:
Verse 1
Went lookin' for my Jesus...just after dawn
But, I found His tomb opened...and His body was gone
Bridge 1:
Oh where...have they taken my Lord?
Verse 2
Well, I saw the nails driven...when He was crucified
I saw the blood and the water...when they pierced His side
Bridge 1:
Oh where....have the taken my Lord?
Bridge 2:
And then I looked into an angel's face
He said, "He's risen...from this place."
Verse 3
Now my heart's filled with joy...hough my eyes fill with tears.
Death and sin now lie broken...so do all of my fears
Bridge 1:
Because I found...I found my Lord
Bridge 2:
And then I looked into my Savior's face...and I saw the love...no power on earth...can erase!!
Jam and improv on...
Love the song and the collective performance.
