  • This is simply fantastic! and is a monument to Bream as a player. When I hear this it's like music from the beginning or the end of the world... It takes you right down into the bowels of the earth and then up to the heavens. It's wonderful, there is so much feeling, passion and strength there. It must be the greatest performance that we have of this piece on guitar.

  • BREAM=GOD

  • i keep comming back to this to see if i can get sick of hearing bream play possibly bachs greatest work next to the mass in b minor, 2 years later and it still feels like the first time

  • Maybe the best version of Chaconne on the guitar. Fantastic sound, fantastic articulation...Bream at his peak.

  • @Hermeterec as far as the lute i think bream would laugh at that lute statement, not to discredit him in the slightest, but even he admits he dosent do it proper lute style

  • from Jose' Sepulveda, the hermeterec to @ngupowered.......yeah, you are exactly right @ngupowered.....This is BREAM we're discussing, possibly the finest classical guitarist the world has ever produced.

  • from Jose' Sepulveda, the hermeterec.....I always DID think that Julian Bream was better than his "mentor" Andres Segovia and this performance did nothing to disabuse me of that notion. Bream is a genius on this instrument as well as the lute. A perfect performance.

  • @ngupowered hahah go to any classical guitar video on youtube and you will always hear this comment over and over:

"Too ___, listen to (insert random relatively unknown guitarist). This Jullian Bream we're talking about, give the man some respect. This is an AWESOME performance!

  • Tempo too slow and fluctuating; dancers would get weary. Listen to Göran Söllscher; best version out there.

  • from Jose', the Hermeterec Mystif.......My dear friend, Stephen Hydonus has always maintained that Julian Bream was the pre-eminent classical guitarist of his generation.......after having heard this monumental performance of the iconic Bach Chaconne I have no choice but to acceed.

  • was this played in a church?

  • is that the Segovia's version of chaconne ? or not?
