I never use a macro lense for anything else but macro photos, so I don't care about the noise and speed. When I'm takeing macro photos, I got plenty of time to set everything up. Don't need to say I like my Tamron 90mm 2.8 Macro.
For portraits I use a 28-80mm lense, or my 55-200mm dpending on the circumstances.

what are we supposed to learn from this video??
Jeez !!!

sonds like terminator.........

is the 60mm tamron any good

Try sneeking a shot whith that! It sounds like landing gear on a 747.
However it does have a reputation for being a great lens.

@MusicScoutMunich Yes but macro lenses can also make for pretty decent portrait lenses, so autofocus speed is nice to have. The canon is more money (here in canada its $500 for the Tamron and $620 for the Canon) but I'd rather spend the extra for the focus speed.

@svtcontour ... well if you going to buy a macro lens you should know that the af is unintersting... i guess that tamron makes the best macro lens for that kind of cost
-
Wow I was going to buy this, but I think I will spend the extra and go for the Canon 100m USM after seeing this.

i loled when the front lensmount came out :P
Yea, but the glass is super sharp. Usually for macro work you use manual focus.
