@Skormm totally agree...45 is the best for defense. over penetration would just cause too much legal problems in court if u end up hitting someone you dont want to hit.

Ok, stop with the arguing... This video definitively determines that BOTH a .45 cal handgun firing 230 gr ammunition, AND a .40 cal handgun firing 180 gr ammunition are BOTH very effective in hunting phone books. Sheesh.
