This song was popular on the radio when I was going through one of the most deeply depressed periods of my life. I thought of ending it all, once and for all. But somehow whenever this song came on the radio, I was uplifted to the point I could go on for another day.
I bought the album and from then on, whenever the blues would come knockin', I'd play this song and slowly I'd shake it and move on. Thank God for Wet Willie music power and "Keep on smilin' til the sun comes out again y'all..."

No truer words to live by. I grew up in the 70's, and the song still makes sense today, funny thing how things change , but stay the same.

@jattpyb I read this and was very moved like you my sister passed away and this song kept me going after she died. she was my best friend and my life has not been the same since she died but thank GOD i have the memories to see me through another day GOD bless you!!!

My wife asked me to get some beach music together for the last day of school last year. She teaches at a K - 5th grade school. The music was for a summer theme for the kids and was playing loud as the parents were picking the kids up outside that day. I added this classic from my high school days and forgot about the "you're just hanging out in a local bar and wondering who the hell you are" part. Went over like a lead balloon........oops. I don't get to pick the music this year!

My brother used to sing this song when was going through chemo and I will never forget him . God used him to wake me and some other folks up. Man he was awesome. Glad you was with me for those few short years brother I love you
