Pola Negri, A Woman of the World, should be seen & remembered as such. Her world of art went beyond the boundaries of national identities--Truly Polish, yet she was an artist & a woman of the world! Now to get the San Francisco Silent Film Festival to understand this!

sounds like edith piaff in some parts

Ah ha! Here's the song I love that Pola sings! I couldn't remember the name of it,but in the version that I have, she sings it in english .
-
You made a WONDERFUL video!

Pola would tell you to rely on your very own & unique inner beauty--that would transcend the physical. Without us, there would be no Pola!

If she wasn't known as a Polish born actress apparently French people would claim she was French like they do with Maria Sklodowska Curie

I just saw the movie last night. Very nice and she sings it better in English on stage. I wish her leading man had been someone a bit more romantic than Basil Rathbone -- and according to her autobiography she did too!

Pola made 10 78rpm recordings a total of twenty sides. She's pretty good.
Much, much silkier than Marlene. In a total league by herself. 5STAR!!
