A very funny scene from the 1983 movie National Lampoons Vacation where Clark drives the Family Truckster off the end of the closed road and launches it 50 feet into the air after getting lost in Arizona.

Imagine if this happened to the DeLorean time machine from "Back to the Future Part III."

Marty: "Doc, I saw some Detour signs."

    Doc: "I didn't see any."

Marty: "I saw them when you were trying to reset the time circuits."

Doc: "Marty, when they closed the train tracks, they put up big signs, like this one."

    (Marty and Doc Scream)

(Train and DeLorean Crash into the Exploding Pit, and they're stuck in 1885, and don't get Back to the Future). LOL!!!

There was also a deleted scene after those shady mechanics fixed their car. They run out of gas, so they push it to a gas station. The attendant fills the car up with gas. Clark then asks the attendant to go in the station to get an auto part. As soon as the attendant leaves, Clark drives out of the gas station real fast without paying for the gas, because he has no money. The attendant then starts running after them. Someone saw them shoot that scene but was disappointed that it got deleted.

The reason why the ending wasn't used was because the test audiences hated it(to the cast and crew's surprise) mainly because you don't get to see them at Walley World after they struggle so hard to get there. So they shot a new ending where Clark holds the park at gunpoint so he and his family can have fun. The original ending still exists, just not to the public. I know that Chevy Chase has a copy of it.

Well, in the commentary they talk about the original ending. Plus I've read the original script for this movie. There is 1 picture of Clark holding the gun at Roy Walley's place and his family behind him smiling nervously. You can read about the original ending online. Unfortunately, the script has been taken off the internet.

how do you know about this? this movie ends with the family and others riding a roller coaster at Walley World, then shows the closing credits over postcards of the family enjoying the rest of their vacation. the last postcard shows them flying home, but how do you know about them driving to Roy Walley's house and Clark shooting the car's radio?
