How Narcissists Rise to the Top

Narcissism develops in early childhood as he/she learns how to manipulate adults. Certain actions receive certain reactions and so by doing certain things he/she learns how to "pull their strings". The child develops a taste for power and grows to feel superior to others as he/she witnesses them believing their falsehoods and falling for their trickery.

Like a comedian "working the room" a narcissist manipulates a crowd through subtle techniques they have spent a lifetime perfecting. If they want the crowd to turn on someone they don't like they simply "plant seeds" (offering suggestions or connecting dots that result in a specific conclusion, rather than suggesting it.) If they want someone who doesn't like them to praise them they will force their social potency upon them by laughing with their friends to force that person to smile and thus go along with what looks like an act of spontaneous friendliness.

No one sees through this except he/she being used by this manipulation and rarely does, as rarely can, he/she say anything. The strings are held firmly in the hands of the puppeteer and to suggest this would be of great insult to those with strings on their backs, who would turn against he/she for speaking out. Their loyalty remains steadfast with the one pulling their strings.

But their arrogance will always bring them down in the end. It always does.

  • I have noticed that narcisists use the personal pronoun "I" more than average and that narcissist traits are encouraged in this society. So there is no surprise that our leaders would have these personality characteristics in abundance. People are taking in by their confidence, hoping to find competence since we are all wishing to delegate leadership of society to others. Problem is that people continue to look to leaders for answers even though it is pretty obvious that they don't have any.

  • @1984SmallFry Agreed. You're probably right about the "I" because they think of people only in terms of how they can be used by them. In their heads they are the only person who can do what needs to be done. Another reason why they make bad leaders: ignoring good ideas that others come up with. I've noticed that when they do pick someone else's idea they tend to "tweek" it, as if to say "your idea is not bad but I know how to make it work." LOl they're a funny lot.

  • A few seconds in I saw Obama. One of the best of the worst.

  • @landlogger Many people seem to think so. I researched "Narcissist" on Google images when looking for pics for this vid. Guess whose face popped up more than anyone else's lol. Pres Obama.

  • That was a competent video.

  • @JerrysFunhouse Thanks.

  • @mahdatonta Ah, but what is Narcissism? If you read on it the true Narcissist lives in his own world, regards those around him as inhuman puppets to be used, he/she is a master manipulator, cold to a near-psychotic extent (sometimes psychotic), and has no clue how to bridge the gap between their private mind and the falsehood they project (thus all their relationships, all connected with this falsehood.) An individual can be impassioned for change and self-disciplined (like Lincoln.)

  • @Neurolanis This video has caused me to contemplate lots about great names in political history. The Buddha is the only character I conclude probably overcame his narcissistic urges. The biblical Jesus comes across to me as a flaming narcissist. Same for all the other prophets of monotheism. Narcissis drowned when having fallen in love with himself. I'm hoping for the same result with the political devils of today, the sooner the better. Many do appear to court self-destruction.

  • @missartist123 I'd say so too.

  • @Neurolanis Jeez. Sounds like a little kid trapped in a full grown man's body.
