Film Riot, I´m pretty sure this is not Nicholas Cage worst, I have nightmares of him in Ghost Rider, its really scary, but not in the sense they meant it.

I think it was exceptional, in almost every way. Some acting was just great, some was brilliant (Nic Cage, his father and his (step?) mom). It should have been nominated for best picture over some others that were, but whether it should have won is a different story when competing with A Serious Man, The Hurt Locker, Precious, Inglorious Basterds. I would probably give it to either this or A Serious Man. But leave it to the academy to omit Werner Herzog.

I love how all the inconsistencies in this scene don't matter squat since it's one of the best scenes in any movie in the last ten years.
- The mobster's bodyguard doesn't get a single shot off even as he's holding his gun at ready while the gangsters get like two shots off.
- The body of the mobster doesn't move when it's shot the second time.
- One of the gangster's clips is out even though he's shot twice at most. Possible, but unlikely that he goes around with a clip with just two shots.

I liked the movie.... it was a dark comedy and not supposed to have seriously depth in regards to acting. They didn't make this with Oscars in mind... was supposed to be entertaining which it was. Its a pretty cool movie to sit around and watch late at night.
