We ended up swapping the engine for a mint condition one with 20k miles for $600.
I traded the car in and got a 2005 GTO

How did you get a replacement for only 600? And where?? Because I'm looking for a replacement engine myself...

Got it from a local yard. $600 was tax and core charge included. 20k miles on the engine.
It was a little sketchy on first start, but after a few minutes it ran like a champ!
And I do have videos of the GTO - 4 to be exact lol
