WUTV Midday Matinee Break 11-29-85 (#3)

The day after Thanksgiving in 1985 WUTV ran the G.I. Joe movie "The Revenge Of Cobra" in its afternoon movie time slot. Being six years old at the time, I was nuts for G.I. Joe and my mom taped the movie for my brother and I. The commercials shown during this airing have come to represent much of what I remember Christmas time in Buffalo feeling like as a kid.

AHA! I finally figured it out! That last song being performed in the Solid Gold commercial is Debby Boone's "Choose Life".

The audio was the same going into and coming out of the commercial breaks for the entire original run of the series. In the second season they re-animated the G.I. Joe logo against a red background. It looked a lot "flashier."

Funny thing about that WJYE/Joy FM commercial. After years of going by just WJYE, they've changed their name back to Joy FM.

Yep farcher3-it was a 4th season episode called "Once Upon a Joe".

Do you know the name of the episdoe when Shipwrek told a fairy tale in which there was a mini story in which he was called "Shipshape" and Duke was an evil monk that made his life miserable? The fairy tale story only lasted a few minutes but it was so funny. Too bad reruns of GIJOE don't air even thouugh the movie did decent at the boxc office.
