Oh how sweet the hurt is! I miss home sooo much! My husband took me there a few years ago because he could see the yearning to go home( he surprised me by having a local radio station play "Take me There", by Rascal Flatts . The need to return is strong again, and this time we bring the family to see my beautiful hometown. God Bless St Martinville and Cypress Island

New Acadians - Composer is Al Berard and performed by The Basin Brothers... It is truly a beautiful song.

Thanks, wasn't able to play till now. It's about the Le Grand Drangement when the Acadians were expelled from Canada as near as I can tell, but I don't speak French.

I absolutely love the history of this area. It is amazing that I am living in the area where the Acadians came down from Nova Scotia to settle. This church is so very beautiful... I love to go there in the quietness of the day.. When I came across this song.. my video just fell into place so naturally.

Thanks Brad! That is my daughter and her boyrfriend. We, my two daughters and I) are originally from South Africa and have settled in this part of the world. This little area is called Acadiana - French Cajuns. The Acadians, exiled from Nova Scotia settled in this area.. I tried to capture the old and the new Acadians in this vid.. I plan to try and cover as many of the little towns in this area as I can.. each unique in their own way and all very proud of their French Cajun heritage.
