As for Chevy Chase, MD being named after him- considering it was named that in 1725... He would have to be about 300 years old if it were named after him...
I indicated that the town was named after his FAMILY, not Chevy himself. The Chases are one of the oldest families in the US, they were in America for a good hundred years before 1725.
Actually, this is sketchy at best. There was something called "The Ballad of Chevy Chace", which the town/territory was named after, but Chevy is a descendant of the clan Douglas, who were combatants in the story, so it's a stretch, but hey, close enough..... (douchebag)
