@gamersmike whats the joke? You can only technically run a nuclear sub about such a long time, but please 5 months is the absolute maximum..isnt it? i mean whats about the food ;) angling fishes with special ops aquanauts :P be carefull, the next fish could be the U34 doing hydrogen silent running

Can dive to 787 feet. Is that all? The Titanic lays at 13,000 feet. The deepest depth is 36,000 feet.

Size is not an advantage for a submarine. It is a disadvantage. The larger you are, the easier it is for you to be detected for example by sonar. So boasting about the size of the submarine is.. not very smart.

Certainly there is a need for this sub class as part of the Triad defense. Given that most countries (friend and foe) still have most of the thermonuclear assets they had in the cold war. But putting it near the coast of an enemy (ie. concealed) is taking a giant risk as it could be detected (even accidentally). There are other equally good detection abilities that the US military has.

this national geographic stuff ist allways the same... anything on Nr1 in this Top 10 are American. Tanks , Subs , Guns ... if they would start a Top 10 of Car Brands they would top Ford and GM on Top and some fine Mercedes on the last 5 without becoming red ...
