SmartScreen is a solar shading system that opens and closes in response to changes in ambient room temperature. The system does not require any sensors, processors, motors, or electricity to operate. Instead thermo-responsive smart materials serve as material motors that can open and close the screen by changing their shape. This video features the first few design iterations developed by Decker Yeadon LLC, in New York City, and their proof-of-concept prototype.
