One of the most comforting truths in the Bible is to know that God doesn't give His children a part-time or even a temporary kind of love. God's love for His own endures forever! However, some people would tell us we can somehow start out being a child of God but then end up being a child of the devil again! Therefore, this series, Eternal Security, takes a look at the 6 Reasons why people come to the faulty conclusion that God's love is not eternal, or in other words, that you can lose your salvation. It's simply because they've forgotten The Context, The Counterfeits, The Corruption of Man, The Atonement of Christ, The Use of Common Sense, and The Clear Passages in Scripture that clearly state there's no way a true Christian can lose their salvation. This is why the Gospel is called the Good News and that is this. We are not saved on the basis of our performance. We're saved by the performance of Jesus Christ. And that's why we can have Eternal Security!

  • Great teaching.

  • This is right on they do cite the scenerio of the Christian who later became an Atheist.

I believe people experience false conversions when they fall away so easily. There are prodigal son's but they will come back.

My father was in and out of my life, he loved me one day and the next disowned me, God is not like our earthly bad dads. Jesus said he would never leave us or forsake us and I believe that!

  • @conkpit Are yours true?

  • @bitbreaker *SIGH* You declare no one can know the truth, yet, you make bold, affirmations in your previous posts, such as: 1)"...the world and all it's intricacies is just beyond what anyone even knows."

    2) "This dumb word that people call God is beyond us."

3)"...it's not that I don't believe in my own argument, it's just that there is only one real thing to be understood in this world, and that's that[sic]nobody knows a god damn thing about it anyway."

    Question: Are your beliefs true?

  • @conkpit Actually, it's not that I don't believe in my own argument, it's just that there is only one real thing to be understood in this world, and that's that nobody knows a god damn thing about it anyway. So why go about parading what you think the truth is when you don't know shit. the difference between you and I is that even though I participate in these useless arguments (mostly because I'm a belligerent drunk) I acknowledge the fact that I don't know shit anyway. Nobody does...

  • @bitbreaker Well, even you are not convinced by your own arguments, are you? Are you prepared for my reply to your previous statement, or would you prefer to review your response for any areas of contradiction?

  • @conkpit Dude, seriously, the world and all it's intricacies is just beyond what anyone even knows. This dumb word that people call God is beyond us. That word is the very thread of the fabric that binds us... Wait... Let me take another sip of my beer. What exactly are you questioning here? Are you questioning my views on all this chaos and the way we perceive it? Honestly I am nobody to be telling people what to think, because even I am full of shit.

  • Great job taking everything I say out of context. As for Harry Potter, I still don't get your argument. As for god, the name itself is just a word that you nor I have no understanding of. The concept is beyond us, but, as I said, if Jesus existed, he had sight and knowledge beyond what we know. The bible itself might have some factual information in it, but that does not make it so.

  • @bitbreaker Jesus could not possibly be or have the potential God-hood nature if he never existed. If God is a potential in all of us, why didn't the potential "God" in you solve your problems you mentioned about in an earlier post? If God is only a word, why would you be angry about a "word" not solving your problems?

  • @bitbreaker Why do you respond so bitterly to questions. I was not mocking you. Surely, you believe the topic of religion or the Bible--which you assert was created by man--is much more relevant to discussion as opposed to discussing a fictional story as "Harry Potter"--which was also created by man...or should I say, woman?

Shall we talk Harry Potter or religion?

  • @bitbreaker I thought to be open-minded, one must also respect the opinions and beliefs of those who are closed-minded. Why would you grow impatient towards those with a restricted belief system?

  • @conkpit Oh, forgive me for jumping the gun so quickly, but I've grown quite impatient of all these nitwits and their closed-mindedness. I for one stand for only one concept, and that is to live, to love, and to learn. But, alas, as of late, it seems nobody gives a good god damn for the middle ground and will stick to their side in this rock throwing contest. My stick is definitely bigger than yours! Hahaha!
