  • In the Islamic religion, all must prey and eventually visit Mecca.

In the religion of racing, all should prey and NO MATTER WHAT visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is our high church.

  • I hope Jimme Johnson DOES try the Indianapolis 500 someday. He is one of the few NASCAR drivers who could successfully wheel an IndyCar. Obviously, Stewart, Montoya, Robby Gordon, Hornish, and Allmendinger HAVE in the past.

  • I hope someone manages to eventually win the Indy/Charlotte double, with Chevrolet coming back to Indy in 2012, maybe the Chevy NASCAR teams will have a go, personally I've got a funny feeling Jamie McMurray & Juan Montoya will be in Ganassi cars at the Indy 500 next year

  • toni george is a idiot

  • i gotta say....i'm shocked to hear gordon say that. he's a lifetime nascar driver and for him to say winning at indianapolis is his CAREER highlight........i shutter to think about the amount of damage he would have wrought in open wheel.

  • Al Unser Jr's comment after the 1992 race deserved the round of applause alone.

  • yeah, I watched an old interview where Jimmy Johnson had just won an off road race and he said his dream was to be in Indy Cars and to be at the 500, but when he was asked about that clip by Dave Despain he basicially said that Chevy told him they'd take him to NASCAR and they were leaving Indy and that NASCAR is where his future should be.

  • Johnson also has something in common with Rick Mears: both came from off-road racing ("Desert Rats" as Robin Miller calls them).

  • I apparently misplaced my invitation. Drat.

Seriously, once again the Speedway proves what a class organization it continues to be.

  • Looked like it was a great event.
