Dodie drives the "home made Electric car" to the the store and post office . In the process she has fun, see some friends, and she does it without burning any fossil fuels . The car will go 30 miles per hour. learn that we control our transportation destiny.

  • 30 MPH. So on the streets with other cars would it be able to keep up?

  • @Legacys1newgirl . Hi , The car can only go on streets marked 35 mph or less. but it will get up to top speed in a matter of seconds. there are many different motor and gearing combinations, the car can be less than 2 horse power and be licensed as a "Motor driven Cycle" Keep in mind that a 2 horse power electric motor is comparable to a 6 to 8 Horse power Gas engine, There is lots of power .

  • @thegreensbackhoe : isnt that a very strong motor

  • @tapil123

Hi , the car has a 2.5 HP electric motor . thats about the same as a 6 to 7 hp gas , the main weight of the car is in the batteries, That is why it so fast . thanks.

  • how do you keep people from stealing it?, do you have some kind of key?

  • @mastax1234 . Hi , I installed a master shutoff with a key switch, I suppose it wouldnt be hard to track it down , since it is the only one in the area , thanks for the email

  • Very creative! And beautiful job!!! I would love a nice simple car like that. It's perfect for around town. Nice work!

  • @Legacys1newgirl

i doubt its 30mph its more like 15mph max. that thing is not even street legal. its running off 2 12 volt batteries (total of 24v). its impossible for it to reach 30mph unless they have a good electric motor, controller and some more batteries.

  • No state license plate? :-O

  • @thegreensbackhoe at 30mph would you be able to keep up with other cars out on the road?

  • So 30 mph. Would you say that would keep up with speed with other cars out on the road? As in if you were driving on the road would it be abled to keep up with ongping traffic?
