Wow man a really great job! I have huge respect for drummers who can read and you can clearly have a good groove if you wanted to. What drum kit would you recommend? sizes etc.

very subtle drumming and very good drumming. very smooth.and i'm jealous that you're reading the music as you play. lol. wish i could do that. one quest? when you were playing w/ the brushes, were you using the kick at all or just hat and snare? is that typical of that style?

Thanks mate! Yeah, I had to read the music as I hadn't played the stuff before so had to sight read on that session.
In that instance, the kick wasn't really used with the brushes. Its was a short passage so didn't really require it, although depending on what figures (hits) are being played by the Brass you might use the kick here and there (Kick with trombones/Sax's, Snare with Tmpts). If you were playing small band stuff such as trios/4tet/5tet etc you would prob use the kick a bit more too.
