Pastor Melissa Scott, in an excerpt from her full one-hour plus teaching on what the Bible really says about women speaking in the Church, notes that on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit and His attendant Gifts, including speaking in tongues, fell on everyone in the upper room. Yes, even the women. As it was clear that Paul spoke to a specific group of women at Corinth, and that Jesus sent Mary Magdalene as the first evangelist with the Gospel, so it is clear that God the Father makes no distinction between men and women in the giving of His gifts. Foolish men may try to box God in, but the Truth is the Truth whether one likes it or not. Pastormelissascott.com is her website, with teaching streaming in both video and audio 24/7. You can also see her on ION Media Network three nights a week, and many local television broadcasts in the U.S.

  • Exactly Vinny, why would he lose more than half the world's population as an instrument of teaching and disseminating truth? !! Jesus included women, social outcasts, and everyone else -- and didn't hang out with the powerful, how feared his truth and therefore executed him -- which made his teachings live on as a result!! Tell me that's not a divine plan !!

    God bless you.

  • Why would God give, through His Spirit a woman the ability to preach the Good News so well if He didn't want a woman to preach? C'mon!

  • this was great, i really have a better understanding of that passage now. so many times its been taken out of context and used to try to keep women silent in the church. but i was always scincal about that idea. i felt that we were missing or overlooking something. she does a great job of filling in the blanks

  • I'm glad she's addressed these verses. Although most of that mindset won't change their views regardless. sigh, oh well. in the sweet by and by...

  • i saw this sermon some time ago on ION. it had and has reformed some of my complementarian views. I think she is one of the few genuine and authentic preachers in media. charles stanley and vernon mcgee are some other favorites.

  • Amen DannyD, without fully digging into the original languages&texts of the scriptures, the best part of the message is sometimes lost-&just preaching at people instead of giving them understanding is what drives so many people away from the truth.Terminology is one of the most powerful things we have, &too often it is misunderstood. Pastor Scott's &the late Dr. Gene's scholarship has been so enlightening&a true blessing2me.

I try to share the true meanings of words with people as a result.

  • She Is One Of The Leading Preachers Today She Is So Lead by The Holy Spirit---Specially When She Teach about that We LIVE IN GRACE and not law------not works But JESUS-FAITH-GRACE---But It is so much she Have From The Holy Spirit---It comes a New Reformation--And JESUS-LOVE-GRACE Movement Today and She Is one that Walking in the Front Lines---GLORY HALLELUJAH KING JESUS CHRIST

  • That makes sense to me. Thank you Pastor Scott for making this teaching available.
