Megaman energy-saving lightbulbs - or 'lamps' - are manufactured across several sites in Xiamen, China - from raw materials to finished product.
Gavin Hill was hired to make a video showcasing Megaman's state-of-the-art processes for screening at trade lighting exhibitions worldwide.
The video was edited in Bangkok, Thailand.

Over the years, the company has been awarded a range of international energy and environmental labels awards, such as the Energy Efficiency Recommended Program certified by the Energy Saving Trust of the United Kingdom; the Singapore Green Labelling Scheme; and also the Energy Label awarded by the Hong Kong Voluntary Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme for Compact Fluorescent Lamps. The reputable Stiuftung Warentest was also awarded to us by the Berlin based German consumer organization for quality. At the 2003 Hong Kong Awards for Industry, MEGAMAN® was awarded the Certificate of Merit for Environmental Achievement from The Business Environment Council and the Quality Award from The Trade and Industry Department.

Combining our expertise and experience in compact fluorescent technology, MEGAMAN® has created lamps with amazing and compelling functionality together with a splash of appealing appearance.

By reducing carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency, Megaman's advanced research and development facilities support the progress of our compact fluorescent lamps from initial conception through to final testing and quality control. Our specialist product development engineers continue to produce advanced high-end products which meet both the demands of our customers and of the environment.

As an industry first, our factories are powered from our own hydro-electric plant, ensuring that our stringent environmental policies apply to both our products and our processes. Our manufacturing process is liquid mercury free; we use automated amalgam sealing and insertion machines fitted to our state-of-the-art assembly lines. Our production facilities now cover an area of 10 million square metres and we have created new standards for safer and more efficient production. This has been achieved through the introduction of new, more efficient testing and manufacturing processes. These measures ensure that Megaman® will continue to deliver innovative, reliable and safe products both now and into the future.
