Hurricane Irene Could Strike New York City And/Or New England This Weekend -- Report

UPDATE III (4:00am ET on Friday, August 26, 2011):

Hurricane Watch in effect for essentially all of the North Carolina coastline.

Hurricane Watch in effect for Virginia coastline, much of the Maryland coastline (including some of Chesapeake Bay), most of the Delaware coastline and most of the New Jersey coastline.

Tropical Storm Warning in effect for the South Carolina coastline.

Tropical Storm Watch in effect for the northern Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland as well as the Potomac River area about as far northward as Washington DC.

US media is trying to brainwash public to be scared of the boogeyman. I can't imagine a concrete island like Manhattan and NYC can be affected by this storm. SO what's the big deal with some wind and rain?? Just take out your raincoats and rainy boots if you need to go out. Big freakin deal. I'd be happy were getting some time off work and getting our dirty streets washed by nature.
