***TUTORIAL*** on how to make your own video like this one is now available here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpWvU11ftm8

Music made using 9 iPhone music apps

This new video again explores the idea of composing music inside the timeline of Final Cut Pro, it features the following nine iPhone music apps - Melodica, Easy Guitar, NLog Synth Free, iRockGuitar Lite, Mobilesynth, Drum Kit Lite, Kalimba Free, Junglist Lite and the mighty Bebot.

It was shot on mini DV (canon XL1s) and was sliced up in FCP. My blog is at http://paulhigham.com and you can follow me at @paulhigham. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions for the next one.

There's a better quality version over at vimeo by the way - http://www.vimeo.com/4917339

  • so what i do not understand is how you came in to the final project you used many iphones together? or else how could you tell what part you should play from each organ? with few words i don't understand how you came to put all the piece's right! how you make it in composing it you did it separately each organ if yes how could you tell what rythm to play for each one so that you could come to that result?

  • @demolutioner777 the opening part was the framework, I played each instrument in the same key as the opening clip, just individual notes, then each note or drum hit was arranged accordingly inside the video editing software, the piece was composed using these individual hits as I went along

  • Are there any equivalent apps for any of that on a htc Android?

  • @mikeLgriebel not at all, I replaced my iPhone with a HTC Desire and there is a complete lack of creative music making apps on the Andriod platform, iPhone/iPad have some serious apps available now, they're light-years ahead in this field

  • @thehighams Whilst I have to admit Apple has way more apps, there are many good music apps for Android now, Android has really come of age over the last year. I've been using Solo for over a year now, it's probably Android's best guitar app and is very advanced. Also there is xPiano, My Drums for a drum machine, and Ethereal Dialpad as a very nice different way of making music.

    Brilliant video!

  • @dysynnigoosebusters thanks for the heads up, maybe I should make an Android Music Apps video..?
