  • The video is called "chasing a 350z" and not "350Z beaten by Mazda 6" for a reason. More then likely the Z owner was instructed by their instructor (or wanted themselves) to give the pass to watch my lines through a lap of the course. It's all about education! It's also an excellent example that vehicles are only as fast as the person driving them, no matter how expensive or mod filled. You should see the photos of the Ford GT (with R comps) being passed by Civics.

  • Pitting occurs prior to the point at which the vehicle passed in this video. Instead of going down the straight, the driver pulls to the right, and extends his/her arm out the window as high as possible, with a closed fist. This allows drivers behind them to take the best line through the proceeding turn, for maximum speed in the following straight.

  • Car in the video has the following modifications.

    CP-E Intake and A/F tuning

D2 Coilovers with Rear Koni Shocks (Rear D2's were horrible)

    Rear Racing Beat Swaybar

    Rx7 16x8 +50 wheels with 245/45/16 Hankook RS212 Rubber.

Carbotech XP10 Track Pads on Stock Brakes

  • Would have liked it much better if it didn't have the worst music I've ever heard, and if the damn video wasn't sped up.... You drive much better than that 350

  • Video isn't sped up. It's in realtime. Music is just the rocky training montage. Sorry if you don't like it. If I could edit the video, I'd put it up without the music, but you honestly can't hear much other then wind noise at 100+ mph. (Have to have all 4 windows down for mazda drivers)

  • Looks like it is sped up for the first 1 minute or so, maybe it's just really choppy.... I don't remember going that fast through the turns and I was in a formula 2000 when I was there. Coming out of oak tree looks like you were hauling.

  • It might just be the camera angle. It's a cruisecam, mounted on the passenger side, with a sony PSC-150 mounted in the center, angled slightly forward. Not exactly the best video capture hardware on the market, but it meets its purpose.

  • Crossbow had a 6s which is the V6. we had a cold air intake on our 6 too and I believe he had aftermarket springs too.

  • Its encouraging to see a regular Mazda 6 doing this well against a 350z, I am in the process of building my 6, just took care of exhaust and next is an intake and suspension work

  • 2.3l? or v6

  • how did u drift the beginning?

  • hey man what do u think about bmw 328? i own one myself and heard they made for circuit, like twisties, but my car is auto-is that the problem? i mean can u still race it if its auto anyways

  • Where did you mount the camera in the 6?

  • Uh yes I did but for all I know the Z just pulled over to A. Leave or B. LET the mazda pass to be freindly. Dah Dah Dah

  • uh, did you watch the whole thing? the z gave him the wave to pass. durrrrrr
