Anubhav Singhvi's Turbine Engine (Turbojet, PST J800R) running at full power.

The "jet blast" sound is quite loud, so I recommend wearing ear-muffs or headphones.

How a Jet Engine (Turbojet) Works: The Compressor is spun by the starter motor. It takes in large quantities of air, which travels through the diffuser and compresses and steadily heats up as it enters the Combustion Chamber. Fuel is pumped using an electric pump into the Combustor (Combustion Chamber) where it mixes and gets further compressed with hot air entering through special perforations. Here, it is ignited by a spark plug (glow plug in this case) with a continuous spark and burns with intense energy. As the fuel air mixture burns, it expands enormously and exits through the nozzle guide vanes, spinning the Axial-flow Turbine (which in turn is connected to the Compressor through a shaft) which in turn spins the compressor connected to it by a shaft on bearings. The process is continuous. The exiting hot exhaust gases that spin the turbine have extreme amounts of energy as well as heat and provide the thrust (force) and power of the Jet (Turbojet) Engine.

Combustion in a Turbojet engines is "continuous", as opposed to "intermittent" (in piston engines). This means extremely high power (compared to conventional piston engines) and also higher fuel consumption for jet engines. In piston engines , combustion takes place only during one out of four strokes (the "power stroke") whereas in jet engines, there are no stages or strokes. The process is continuous. Therefore, jet engines are "rotary" as opposed to Piston Engines (in automobiles), which are "reciprocatory". That is also why jet engines have almost no vibration.
