Readers of Gizmodo, Lifehacker and other Gawker Media sites may be among the savviest on the Web, but the most common password for logging into those sites is embarrassingly easy to guess: "123456." So is the runner-up: "password."

On Sunday night, hackers posted online a trove of data from Gawker Media's servers, including the usernames, email addresses and passwords of more than one million registered users. The passwords were originally encrypted, but 188,279 of them were decoded and made public as part of the hack. Here are some of the most-popular Gawker Media passwords.

What i am knocking is the people who use these forms of JUSTIFICATIONS, to screw other people , because it was easy.

Hey rick dude, the thing about hacking someones account because they are just lame is, We are All vulnerable All the time , everywhere you go everywhere your property is, everything we do.

if the Lame user with the stupid password is at fault for a hacker taking the opertunity to bust into thier account, THEN . . . .

windows are at fault for being glass and breakable and we should put bars on all of them.

I always use the maximum length, and all are complex. Some of my passwords are over 50 characters long. No joke
