when i was 2nd chef in a pub in england, i cleaned the friers out an hour before lunch service on a saturday morning and the guy who had worked the night before hadnt put the oil delivery inside.
i put the clean oil in the friers and turned it on and about 10 minutes before the kitchen opened, they just went crazy and the whole kitchen got covered in oil. it boiled so much that oil hit the ceiling and it even made the lids go the length of the kitchen when we tried covering it up haha
my manager said that happened before at my work. and today it happenes iwth something in the bakc of the fryer where the flames exploded when we turned it off.
