Hey there, I'm Lauren. It was Harry Potter mania in London today as Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe hit the red carpet for the movie's premiere. We've got the exciting footage as they share their reactions to the final installment, and the early reviews from critics in today's PopSugar Rush.
It's finally here, the end of an era. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 drops into theaters next week, the last film in the franchise that's drawn fans around the world. The stars of the movie celebrated the London premiere today, and to say it was huge, would be an understatement. An estimated 18,000 people packed Trafalgar Square. They camped out for 4 days, dressed up in Harry Potter scarves and with lightning bolts on their faces, all to watch as the cast walked the carpet. Emma Watson looked like a fairytale in a gorgeous floor-length Oscar de la Renta gown with a tulle skirt, Daniel Radcliffe got dressed up in his suit, and Rupert Grint took a funny moment to thank writer JK Rowling for what she's done for ginger people. Sky Movies was streaming the event and stopped some of the stars as you can see in this footage. PopSugar editor Molly Goodson has the lowdown on what they had to say about the epic film.
I was already excited to see the film, and now that the premieres are starting, it's only upped my anticipation. Many of the stars had actually seen the film already, and spoke about how much they loved it.
"There's a huge epic battle, and it has love and death, it's going to be amazing."
"I think in the film, after the first 15 minutes you pretty much are rolling all the way to the end, which I love."
Daniel Radcliffe: "I cannot emphasize enough how far ahead this film is of any of the others. It is amazing, I am so proud."
But the critics seem to love it too. Early reviews for the film are already coming in, and they're overwhelming positive — some are even saying it's better than the book! [anything editor has to add here] I've been particularly curious to see the kiss between Ron and Hermione which the franchise has been building up to, and Emma Watson assured fans that we won't be disappointed.
Emma Watson: "We were nervous, it was awkward, but I think we did the moment justice."
We can see that long-awaited kiss along with the rest of the film's anticipated scenes, when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 comes to theaters next Friday, July 15.
