Another of Chet Atkins early arrangements for fingerstyle guitar. Getting the sound he achieved is not easy. I really like the multiple harmonies that he put into this old tune. This arrangement is from "Stringin' Along with Chet Atkins" album from 1956.

  • Ron, Do you use a compressor in your system?. Your sound is so even and warm.

  • @Rmstandman No, I do go direct from guitar to an audio board, where I can mix the background track(drum unit)with the guitar, and then directly to my camera. The camera has two channels, so I can keep the guitar seperate. The only effects are a nice reverb in the audio board and a delay unit, which I don't always use. The guitar is the sound, and sometimes I can get it to sound the way I like, such as on "Indian Love Call", but not always. Thanks for your great comment. Ron

  • Beautiful ! Love the sound and the good thoughts for Chet that you have relayed here.

  • @TheDragonfly45 Thank you very much. It is an honor to play Chet Atkins music.

  • Can I give some constructive criticism?...It's meant in the best way possible...

    I play guitar myself...

you have the technical, but what you need now is the emotion...it's greatly lacking here...which is making it a very jumpy composition...

the song Indian Love Call is full of emotion and spirituality...practice that emotion in every note u play and it will have better flow and rhythm...

    Otherwise it's good.

  • @Layna8 Thanks for the constructive criticism. You are possibly accurate. I try to do the composition as close to Mr. Atkins as I can. None of the tunes posted are as good as I had hoped.

  • Amazing performance! I enjoyed listening to your guitar playing.

  • @cadjunk Thanks to you Gwen. I certainly am enjoying you folks. I don't leave a lot of comments, so please don't take offense. Ron

  • Hi Ron: A beautiful song, and beautiful playing. Thank you so much for sharing. Loved it. Gwen

  • @Rmstandman Hi Jerry. Thanks so much for your wonderful words. Jerry, I record directly into a audio mixer where I can mix the drum sounds and the guitar. I use a big room reverb thats built into the audio board. From the audio board the signal goes directly to the video camera. The camera has 2 channels, so the guitar is on one channel and the rhythm is on the other. If needed I can record myself again playing rhythm guitar as seen on some of the videos.
