It depends on what translation you go by. I think by now it IS officially "Crash" Man, but it was translated as Clash Man here in this game.

oh. I was playing the NES version and it said Crash. I guess there were some issues going into the Gameboy port

Nah, it's okay, you're not the first. And well, my reason for changing it every time was to attempt variety as well as avoid making it too easy to predict, as the amount doesn't end up changing much, no matter how many people vote (always seems to get in there between 11 and, like, 15 I think, for whoever the victor is, no matter how many or few votes/bosses there are).
