God I wish this had passed. I took my $5,535 Americorps education award disbursement in 2009 to make a student loan payment, forgot to report it in 2010 when I did my taxes, in now in less than a month I have to come up with $970 cash or face additional interest or penalties because I just got a letter from the IRS. If I could have that $970 added back onto my student loan I would. Even if they kept the tax, it should be held back from the amount instead of making people come up with the cash
