LV 18 White Mage VS Chaos Miracle

White Mage-Wiz Solo Challenge Boss Review for Final Fantasy (nes) PT 8

I'm trying a low-level run this time. Defense does wonders in keeping me alive regardless of how bad my attacks suck.

I read somewhere that there was an infinitesimal chance Mute would work on Chaos, so I gave it a try. The actual odds of what happened here-
Getting Mute to work on Chaos: 1/256
Getting Bane to work on Chaos: 1/256
Mute and Bane combo on Chaos: 1/65,536
This means Chaos has to roll two saving throws of 0 out of ff in order for this combo to work. Try this at home and I assume no responsibility for your loss of sanity. Fortunately, I'm already a certified lunatic, so it has no effect on me.

I use savestates before the boss fights and the slain ones as backpacks for extra magic items. I use no cheats. I cut out all the journey to the bosses due to redundancy and time, so I only show me fighting the bosses themselves. I do, however, keep all my failed boss attempts.

you are insane, but this is awesome. i finally beat chaos with 4 white wizards (L27) just over a year ago (no save states, just the old nes console). long story short: the bastard cur4'd after surviving 12 Fade spells, then wiped out three of my ww's. but my surviving ww pulled off the same mute trick and ended up killing chaos with the black shirt.

@bselande Oh god- it's been ages since I've done a high level run with a full party. It's usually some sort of challenge. Just cracked open Origins and am trying to fill the Bestiary with a full party for a change.

Brutal pulling it off on the console though ;-)

@SonofAbel They're independent of each other, but the 1/65536 chance is still valid if you're talking about connecting with both *back to back*. If there's missed attempts in between, the odds are much better.
