I was there in the Corps of Cadets and started cheering when Leshinski made the catch. I thought there was no way he wasn't getting in. Great play by Covington, though.
BTW, Army went for the win because they needed a win to still have an opportunity to be bowl eligible. They crushed Boston College 49-7 the following week.

Hindsight is 20/20, but Sutton should have just kicked the extra point. There's no shame in tying Notre Dame (ties were still counted in 1995).

Oh, and my other favorite follow-up (I remember reading this in SI): a couple of weeks later, ND beat the living hell out of USC. After that game, Holtz was asked how that happened after such a close game with us. Holtz said "Easy. Army's got a better football team."
