  • I always thought that King should have used more quotes from rock bands; The Doors, Guns and Roses and King Crimson, too lol.

"There are things known, and things unknown...and in between are The Doors"

  • man i love these books. I read them in highschool, just recently decided to listen to them on audio book.

I hate the guy that reads the first, 5th, 6th, and 7th books. Hes very boring. The guy that reads 2 3 and 4 is awesome, makes it very intresting.

  • @o2haveaviper I couldnt agree with you more. This guy is a good reader, just not for The Gunslinger books. The guy that reads 2,3 "is" the voice of The Gunslinger. Have you ever heard the story of the original reader, and why he didnt read 'all' of the books?

He was in a motor cycle crash and became brain damaged. This was in the 90's I think, King should have written this into the sotry, imo, somehow. It is a damn shame, he was an awesome reader!

  • Thankee, sai, for posting this! Probably one of my favourite parts in the DT series (the end of "The Gunslinger')

By the way, it's 'palaver', not 'polaver' - whatever though.

    Long days and pleasant nights.

  • This is the point in the series that changed my life

  • @Tripodsantonio This reading is not the original version, but the 2003 revision

  • @evil0live yeah and share the copyright 5 ways? that would be wise......

  • Is it just me, or does Stephen King get a total boner for the word "palaver" in this book?

  • The Crimson King disliked this video.

  • I hope they don't cut the Man in Black's speech for this scene down in the film.

Also, excellent image choices...glad to see everything from official art to fan art to Childe Roland itself.

  • @codename617 The Man in Black was not Walter(Man in Black), isn't Randal Flagg Marten? The man who was having with an affair Roland's mother? If you go to wikipedia and read the synopsis of the gunslinger when you click on the linke of 'Marten's name it leads you directly to Randall Flagg's page.

  • Well the man in black or should i say Randall Flagg actually makes a point for a sex hungry manipulative demon. He managed to survive from the Stand right?

  • the end of the gunslinger is a mindfuck.

  • @evil0live i think he put a tribute at the end of the 6th story explaining this. And i agree, i felt so immerged in the darktower with the audio reader of 2,3,4 . 1,5,6,7 reader is sadly a bit blander of a reader, but he tries his best im sure and does a decent enough job all the same. Thankfully its the story thats engulffing and not the his voice ;P.
