  • Hi George. Thanks for the comments. The antenna was made for my ham friend in Reno NV who's constantly harassed by the HOA. Regarding the SWR, I find it easy to tune when its above the ground. In fact you see the SWR at 1.1:1 during my video test. It is possible to tune to the lowest SWR even when I lay the counterpoise on the ground. First, I elevated the antenna to 4 feet then, I ran the counterpoise down. The antenna tuned with shorter counterpoise this time (27ft for 40M). 73! al

  • Does the SWR go way off if the counterpoise is on the ground? I have seen this happen on my buddipole when used as a vertical (buddistick). In that mode the only way I can get SWR down is to elevate the counterpoise as you have done here. Nice video! Keep us updated on the progress. Let's see some contacts my friend! 73! George
