Lew Dite with his Weapon of Mass
A song the New Lost City ramblers taught me to love.
On Sept 6, 1901 Leon Czolgosz (an anarchist) shot the 25th U.S. president, William McKinley, in Buffalo at point blank range. McKinley was 58 years old.
For further documentation see my McKinley playlist.

  • I love your version. I love the tempo, your pickin' , vocals, and I can understand the words. Great song. Thanks! p.s. I learned this from the No Name Band at MerleFest. They did a great version, but very fast.

  • Why do Americans keep shooting their presidents?

(If they were all like the current one I could understand it.)

  • Hello

    Lew...

Many thanks for sharing this thought provoking story song with us. You have shared with us a piece of US history...by way of this vintage ditty.

    Peace,

    Stewball
