This is me covering "Rampant" by Saki Kaskas from the first NFS soundtrack.

Many thanks to my friend Tim for recording & editing the video. We still have some kinks to work out -- unfortunately the video is crushed horizontally and there are some syncing issues from :41 to 1:12 (the right side is way behind at :58 lol) so I apologize for that.

Power Tabs for this song and eventually (don't rush me) the rest of this rock soundtrack are up at ultimate-guitar.com under "Misc Computer Games: Need For Speed" or at powertabs.net (if you have access there) .

  • Hey man, looks like you are the monster of rock? ))))

That's great man, I'm trying to learn this one and Power Slide

but it gets so hard for me )) ... Do you know guys where can I get tabs for Power Slide and Rampant cause these links are unavailable now ((

  • @MiroslavMetro haha, thanks.

Ultimate Guitar should work; you can copy and paste what I wrote in quotes into the search bar there and the four I've done (I have yet to finish Toxic Exhaust or Overheated) should come up. If not, you can PM me an email address and I can just send them to you that way.

  • GREEEAAT TONE!!!

Ahhh, I remember when i'm still at college trying to pull up those strings but never finished... :p

  • @masalloy Thanks, man!

  • Man, this was great. Good to see some "old" folks (welll.. we who used to play NSF back in the 90's are not kids anymore ehehe good times) keeping gems like this one alive. This game`s OST (NHL 96 also) is one of the best, too bad EA has become lazy about that department. I`m willing to do a cover from another NSF song, just like as you did... but I doubt mine is gonna be anywhere near this greatness.

Congrats and do more if you have the opportunity. Great tone, by the way.

  • @caiodorn Thank you so much! And yeah, while sometimes licensed soundtracks can be good, quite a number of old games had really rocking OSTs and it's sad that you don't see that very much anymore. I've unfortunately been having nerve issues in my arms/hands so I don't play that often recently, but we'll see what the future holds (I'll at least finish tabbing the other 2 songs).

And no need to be so modest, man, I watched your covers and they're sick! I'm sure you'd do better justice than me!

  • @UnbelievableRANTLERS I guess I need a "Tim" here.. ehehe man, don't let some arpeggios fool you. But thank you! :) good luck with nerve issues... that must be a shit. I have no problem like that, my problem nowadays is called "lack of time"... but someday I hope you'll see a version of mine from this great OST :)

  • @UnbelievableRANTLERS Ok! The soundtrack is too sick! I agree with you, it would take too much time to learn perfectly the SAKI KASKAS KILLERS SOLOS!

  • @championofgood17 Thanks! If by "shred part" you mean the run at 1:39, then no, it's all picked. But to be fair, my right and left hands were not perfectly synchronized throughout so some notes aren't as clear. I probably needed another week or two to make some of the harder parts more comfortable, but I had to make this when I did or wait until mid-late May -- so I chose the impatient route. :)
