you didn't have to replace those pads, those are aztec (made by madison) pads... they don't have grooves. they have that ridge line as a wear indicator instead. those pads had plenty of life left, and were of far better quality than the cheapo ones you replaced them with. doh!

If they don't have grooves, why did the ones on the front have grooves? And they worked like crap. The ones I replaced them with were Shimano 105's.
