In the past England has played a 10 man style of rugby. That is, forwards do the hard yards and then the 1st five kicks the ball. Very boring Rugby yet It works for England and South Africa. On this USA thing Don't be arogant if They took even 10% of there NFL players and made them rugby players say from age 5-6 they would smoke us all in rugby. We had Lomu, 1 man. 6'5 280lbs 10.8s 100m. Yanks have 1000s of guys like him and even Dan Carter playing NFL. We are lucky they aint into rugby.

thank you for the comment about the US athletes, but even if the us took rugby seriously(hopefully new movie does this) our linemen/forwards are not as talented as other countries handling the ball and this is vital for passing after contact. also in rugby knowledge Americans dont have too much in depth, as much as other coaches from Europe, or the south. also the textbook tackle in football is dangerous if applied in a rugby game. so NFL isnt the best.

the only way to really be good at rugby is by playing. In New Zealand we start at 5years old. The best thing to learn are basics, catching, passing, tackling and learning how to take tackles. practice this and your on your way, rugby is easy once you learn the basics. By the way there is an american playing super 14 for the lions. He is a very good loosie and any americans out there who want to be good watch him because he is dynamite.
