January 29, 2011 -- Here is a look at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire, New Mexico . . . nestled in the beautiful Moreno Valley that is bordered by the picturesque Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is even older than its more famous brother memorial in Washington, D.C.
And the surrounding area is great for vacations any time of the year ... like snow skiing in the winter and golfing in the warmer months.
The video also includes the heartfelt, inspiring songs, "Colors" performed by the Oak Ridge Boys and "Send Me" performed by Keni Thomas.

I'm hoping my dad and I will get to come here over the summer. He joined the U.S. Army just after the War ended. He was a few years shy of getting drafted beforehand though.

I was fortunate enough to have been able to visit this memorial several years ago, even though I did not know any of the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice, this memorial moved me. Over the years I have met many Vietnam Veterans and I have listened to their stories, to all of you I say Thank you and Welcome Home.
