The Michigan Suite (2011) by Tim Patterson (b. 1984)
I. Aspiring Reflections
IV. Dance-like
Tom Maples, cello
The Michigan Suite tells the story of my initial impressions and experiences after moving to the "Great Mitten". The four movement work for solo cello journeys through all the trials and great experiences I've had in the state over the past year.
The piece is the product of a collaboration with my good friend Tom Maples from Lawrence KS, he now lives with his wife Sara in Ann Arbor.
Tonight we will hear the first and the last movement.
Movements II and III will not be performed.
