    Dude - it's not formal ballet and there's nothing disturbing here except your thought-process. She's adorable and it's just a fun class to help kids learn and move. Lots of people put their kids in community dance classes for like 15 minutes a week - it's fun.

    Humans don't walk with their toes pointed straight in front of them, we all have a natural turn out and a natural range of rotational motion in our hips which allows us to naturally have turn out, some more than others. However, if the child in fact was in such pain as some of you think she is I doubt she would work so hard to be in first position. After all first position is the BASIC and easiest position in ballet.
