Our friend Billy claims that this is how you say "i'm hungry" in mandarin Chinese. We were a little skeptical to say the least. Can any chinese speaking people out there tell us if he is right? Thanks.
It's not "wa" it's "wǒ". He's not far off, though... and there are other ways of saying it, like "wǒ dùzi è". I have to admit that the sounds he's making are funny. Is Billy single?
Actually, yes, he said it correctly, although clearly making it sounds worse than it is. to be hungry = e (with forth tone), so "I'm hungry" = wo3 e4 le5

i asked the chinese guy who i sit next to at work and he didnt sound anything like this
and he said i say thank you right
