as a new learning of mandarin myself, i enjoy hearing other new speakers. becase they talk slow enough that i can catch most of the words haha... mandarin at full speed goes by to quick for me most of the time i have to ask someone to speak slow... so that i have time to catch all the words :)

Keep practicing. And pay attention to the tones. It's VERY important! I could understand most of what your saying but it was hard with your tones. Focus on the tones. You said you like writing chinese. That's okay, but the tones, THE TONES, THE TONES! Good luck! Keep it up! I'm sure you are going to be great in a year or two.
